Open Water Swimming

So, just a simple post.  Gordon and I were out training for swimrun this morning. After running a bit, we transitioned to a swim in Lake Julia at DuPont State Forest about 0930.  It was humid, 68 degrees, water temp probably 70.  Bands of heavy rain showers were moving through from remnants of Hurricane Nate.  Above picture was very similar to our view when near shore.  At one point, when swimming in the middle of the lake, we could see nothing but lake and fog…no signs of the shore.  Eerily beautiful.  We figured more people have climbed Mount Everest than have swum this lake under similar circumstances.
